The DSX has an internal power circuit which generates an 18 volt supply from the 9 volt input, this increases headroom and the high frequency performance of the op amps resulting in a crisp top end with all those lovely harmonics coming through clearly, this pedal is not muddy like many distortion pedals but punchy and full of great tone.
